In response to post on the Best Naruto cosplay, I want to make one for Avatar: The Last Airbender.

What is cosplay? Cosplay is short for costume play which is when a person dresses up as one's favorite character from Japanese animation, video games, movies, and etc. Ever since I began cosplaying, this once unknown hobby has gained in popularity among U.S. convention goers where it is now almost norm to see someone cosplaying. Since then, it has become an artform from the actual production of the costume to the photography.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is a series from Nickelodeon produced by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko (My GODS) have captivated many audiences from many demographics from the targeted children viewers to people in their 50s. The captivating style of the series has led to many people cosplaying from the series to show their fandom as well pay homage to their favorite characters. Here I bring you the best cosplayers I've seen on dA to date.

Cosplaying the main character is hard to pull off, especially is a bald head. I've seen this costume in persion, right height, characterization, just awesome!

Katara

She does a wonderful job in this photo. The costume and the wig is well done, and her expression is great. Also, she has done most of her variant costumes!

Sokka



Of the choices I had, this person stood out the most from the ones I found.

One of the most accurate Zuko's I have ever seen. The scar make up looks and feels like a scar. And of course, the quality of this deviant's costumes is top notch from the fabrics to the function.

So, I think that's all she wrote.I know I'm missing alot of characters since I only searched one category, so please link of some costumes if you can. I'm sure that there's alot more cosplay I haven't seen outside of dA, thus this post shouldn't be a complete judge of what's out there. There were plenty of great cosplays on dA, but I choose what really stood out from the others such as costume quality, photograph, and characterization. I hope you guys enjoyed my first news post, hope you didn't gauge your eyes out reading this.
